Short Biography

Samuel Breaker (formerly Samuel B. Pointer; born 1978) is an American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and modern-day renaissance man best known for longstanding contributions to East Orange, New Jersey. He founded a barbershop that served the city for over 15 years and later launched Cafe By Us!!!, the first coffee shop of its kind in East Orange— a community hub for conversation, creativity, and local culture.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, and raised in East Orange, Breaker is the youngest of four siblings. He later adopted his mother’s maiden name, Breaker, to honor her and to preserve and carry forward the Breaker family legacy. A graduate of Plainfield High School (’97), he attended Union County College and entered the Bridge Program to Rutgers University before leaving to pursue entrepreneurship through barbering.

After eight years mastering his craft in Newark, he opened his own barbershop in East Orange, where he became a trusted mentor and cultural fixture. Today, he is expanding into residential development, focused on revitalizing neighborhoods while elevating the city's creative heartbeat.
